Versant Power to send corrected distribution rate request notice

Release Date:  10-20-2022

Bangor and Presque Isle, Maine — Last month, Versant Power mailed notice to customers regarding its intent to file a request for a distribution rate change.

Unfortunately, because of an error by a printing vendor, customers received an early version of the letter that did not account for a slight increase in the utility's total request due to higher than anticipated bids for tree-trimming service. Therefore, Versant Power will send a corrected notice to customers on Friday, Oct. 21.

The requested amount represents an impact of about 1 percentage point more on a total residential bill compared to our initial estimate. We acknowledge this unfortunate error and apologize to our customers for any confusion. The request remains subject to review and approval by the Maine Public Utilities Commission.

For correct and complete information about the request, visit the Distribution Rate Request page on our website or connect with us on Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn.

Versant Power is committed to delivering safe, reliable electric service. As the state's second-largest electric utility, the company delivers electricity to more than 160,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers across 10,400 square miles in northern and eastern Maine.
