Versant Power is Here to Work with Customers in Winter Months

Bangor and Presque Isle, ME- In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Versant Power recognizes that some residential and business customers are facing financial hardship. The ongoing global dilemma coupled with an increase in electricity usage in winter months can be overwhelming, and Versant Power would like to ensure customers know about the assistance options available to them.

More electricity is needed in the winter months for essential needs such as heating and lighting, just to name a few. This increased usage naturally leads to higher bill statements.  If at any point a customer’s monthly payment becomes unmanageable, Versant Power representatives can help create a personalized payment plan to help bring your past due account balance current.

In addition to setting up payment plans, Versant Power representatives can direct residential customers to agencies that can determine if they are eligible for low-income assistance or a debt forgiveness program.  Local Community Action Programs (CAPs) offer applications for such assistance programs, including but not limited to the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), the Low-Income Assistance Program (LIAP), and the Arrearage Management Program (AMP).  Customers may also be eligible for assistance through Efficiency Maine.
