Some helpful changes are coming!

This summer, customers in Versant Power’s Maine Public District will be able to access additional online services, improved access to account information, and an easier-to-read bill as we move you to a more modern system now serving our customers in the Bangor Hydro District.

How will I access new online services?

If you are already enrolled in an online self-service account through e-Services, you may need to re-register once we make this change. We will contact you with more information to help you with this process.

Using Versant Power’s customer portal, you can view, pay, or download your bill, schedule payments, report an outage and get an estimated time of restoration, as well as access information about your energy use.

What will my new bill include?

Your new bill format includes a more detailed review of the components that make up your bill. There are no new charges on your bill. Learn more at Understanding Your Bill.

Are my payment options changing?

  • If you have automatic payments set up on your account, you may need to re-enroll after we make this change. Click here for directions on how to re-enroll.
  • You can still make a free payment from your checking account if you sign up for Online Services. If you sign up for Online Services, you will no longer receive a paper bill.
  • You can make a one-time payment online or over the phone for $2.95.
  • You can make a payment in person at any Western Union agency, among other authorized locations, for $1. You can see a list of authorized payment agencies Pay Your Bill in Person.
  • You may also be able to pay your bill using your financial institution’s online banking website.

Can I still get my bill history?

You will have access to one year of bill history online and you will be able to see your new bills through your Online Services account.

Will my account number change?

The number is largely the same as before, with the addition of leading zeros and a “check digit” at the very end. If you pay your bill through your bank’s bill payment service, you will need to update that service with your new account number.

If you’re paying toward a deposit, you will no longer have separate deposit and energy account numbers.

How do I get more information about my energy use?

Signing up for Online Services will allow you to view your usage trends, electricity use by similar homes, a bill forecast and ways to save.

After you sign up for Online Services, stay tuned for email messages that provide weekly updates on how much electricity you’re using.
